Its amazing how fast the past year has gone. Looking back, its been one hell of a year!
Just to re-cap:
We've had a baby, sold our house, bought a new one, moved out of our house and into into temp accommodation (Thanks Mom & Dad), Sarah started a new school, we have renovated a house, moved in, Sold it, moved out into temp accommodation (Thanks Mom & Dad!), sold our cars, sold our furniture & appliances, moved to a new country and straight into temp accommodation, I started a new job, Sarah started at a new school, bought a new house, bought new furniture & appliances, moved in, bought a Bike (Sue's wheel's) and that's all.....I think! ! 1 Year down looking forward to the year ahead! Lets pray that it is a little less eventful.
Ronan got us up at 5.30am this morning, and since it was his birthday I didn't mind. Even though I am half asleep when I go into his room in the morning, it's always so rewarding as he shrieks with laughter when you open the door and it is always the start of his morning "fun & games" routine. He scurries around on the floor, playing with everything he can get his hands onto and then about half an hour later he starts moaning....The signal to us that he wants his morning tea!
This morning there was extra excitement when he saw his presents in our room. Sarah was on hand to help open them all up and as per the usual one year old fashion, the wrapping paper was more interesting than the presents.
In the afternoon, sue had arranged a playday/birthday party for Ronan. Some of Sarah's friends came home with her after school and some other friends we have met in our apartment building came down to join in the activities.
I was lucky enough to come home early and join in on the chaos....and it was easy to see that everyone was having a whale of a time.
Its now 7.30pm and thankfully, the peace and order has been restored to the household. The kids are both in bed, fast asleep and Sue has finished her 6th Gin & tonic!
All in all, a great day was had by everyone. My Little champ, Ronan, had a great day filled with tons of laughter, Sarah was the proudest big sister and was very happy to have her friends around.....so to Sue, well done for arranging everything! We will never forget Ronan's first birthday in Tokyo, Japan!
